| Contents | AirAsia Berhad ("AirAsia" or “the Company”) wishes to announce for public information that as at 30 December 2010, 51.55% of the issued and paid-up share capital of AirAsia of 2,773,436,080 ordinary shares of RM0.10 each were held by foreigners (the foreign shareholding as at 30 June 2010 was 48.07%). The percentage of ownership of shares in the Company by foreigners has exceeded the limit of 45% of the Company's total issued and paid-up share capital ("Prescribed Limit"). Pursuant to the Securities Industry (Central Depositories) (Foreign Ownership) Regulations 1996, shares held by foreigners which are within the Prescribed Limit shall be entitled to all rights and entitlements attached to the shares. However, shares held by foreigners which have exceeded the Prescribed Limit shall also be entitled to all such rights and entitlements except for the exercise of voting rights in respect thereof. This announcement is dated 14th day of January 2011. |
