We refer to the letter dated 23/01/2006 from Bursa Malaysia to AirAsia Berhad ("AirAsia" or "the Company") titled: "Fernandes: no plan to exit AirAsia".
AirAsia wishes to clarify as follows:-
1. AirAsia is a rapidly growing business. As such the Company is investing a significant amount of capital for future growth.
2. As mentioned in the Company's 2005 annual report (page 105, item 30: commitments), capital commitments not provided for in the financial statements amount to RM8,202 million.
3. AirAsia is looking at every avenue to finance its committed capital expenditure. Other than debt-related instruments, AirAsia has not considered a rights issue nor has it committed itself to any such corporate proposal.
AirAsia will make the appropriate announcement to Bursa Malaysia in a timely manner in accordance with Bursa Malaysia's Listing Requirements should there be any development on this matter.
This announcement is dated 24th January, 2006.

We refer to the above article appearing on The Star, BizWeek, Page BW3,
Saturday, 21 January 2006 a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence
which is reproduced as follows:
"To further fund the acquisition, a source says the airline could be looking to
make a rights issue."
