AirAsia Berhad ("AirAsia" or the "Company") - Re-designation of key executives

AirAsia wishes to announce the re-designation of key executives within the organisation.

 

1.  En. Rozman Bin Omar

 

En. Rozman Bin Omar has vacated his current position of Group Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) and promoted to the position of Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Corporate) reporting to Tan Sri (Dr.) Anthony Francis Fernandes, the Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia which took effect from 1 September 2016.

 

In his new role, En. Rozman will continue to oversee the Group Finance, Treasury & Investment and financial planning and strategy.  The Group Legal department will also be reporting to En. Rozman.

 

En. Rozman has had a very long association with the AirAsia Group. He had assisted Datuk Kamarudin Bin Meranun, the Non-Independent Executive Chairman and Tan Sri (Dr.) Anthony Francis Fernandes on finance matters including financial planning and modelling and undertook due diligence work in evaluating the prospectives before they decided on acquiring AirAsia Sdn. Bhd. from DRB-Hicom Berhad in 2001. En. Rozman was a member of the steering group that worked on the Initial Public Offering and listing of AirAsia on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 2004. At the same time, he also worked on the setting-up of the Thai AirAsia (“TAA”) Joint Venture and the acquisition of PT Awair International (now known as PT Indonesia AirAsia or IAA), both in 2004. After the listing of AirAsia, En. Rozman took up the full-time position as IAA’s CFO based in Jakarta. En. Rozman was later called back to AirAsia in 2006 to serve as its Group CFO.

 

En. Rozman is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Prior to him joining AirAsia, he had gained extensive experience in corporate finance, acquisitions, project advisory and finance while working for some leading merchant banks and securities house in Malaysia and Indonesia.

 

 

2.  Ms. Pattra Boosarawongse

 

Ms. Pattra Boosarawongse who is currently the CFO of TAA will assume the Group CFO position for the AirAsia Group and shall directly report to En. Rozman which took effect from 1 September 2016.

 

Ms. Pattra joined the AirAsia Group in March 2014 as CFO of TAA and Asia Aviation PCL and within two and one-half years, Ms. Pattra has already delivered strong financial and operational management of TAA’s Finance Department specifically and the Company generally.

 

Ms. Pattra started her career as senior auditor at Ernst & Young, Certified Public Accountants. She later joined Sony Music as Financial Controller and rose to become its Finance Director. She also assumed a regional role as team leader to implement a new group financial system covering 8 countries namely India, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand. Ms. Pattra played a key role in the merger of Sony Music with BEC TERO in 2013. She also led BEC TERO - Music department. Ms. Pattra graduated from Thammasart University (Thailand) with a Masters Degree in Finance & Accounting.
