AirAsia celebrates return to Clark Airport with maiden flight to Kalibo

Back Mar 27, 2017

AirAsia today marked its return to Clark International Airport with first flight to Kalibo departing on time at 1:35PM carrying more than 160 passengers.

Philippines AirAsia CEO Captain Dexter Comendador said, "It feels so good to be back here. Today, we are re-affirming our commitment to make travel more accessible, affordable and for AirAsia to give only the best quality service that every traveller from Central and Northern Luzon deserves."

AirAsia launched commercial flights from Clark in 2012 before transferring its hub to Metro Manila following a strategic partnership with a local carrier in 2013. AirAsia has since been operating on a much larger scale from Metro Manila and has expanded its domestic and international network with flights from secondary hubs in Cebu and Kalibo.

To celebrate its return to Clark, AirAsia and Clark International Airport officials led by CIAC President Alexander Cauguiran and Captain Dexter Comendador hosted a send-off ceremony at the airport for AirAsia passengers and guests.

"AirAsia believes in Clark. We established our base operations here and launched commercial flights in 2012 with only two planes - and now we have a fleet of 14 jets and we are aiming to expand and grow operations here in the next five years," Comendador said.

AirAsia will also re-start Clark-Davao at four times weekly on April 22 including new flights to/from Davao, Palawan, Cebu and Caticlan/Boracay. The airline has also earlier announced expansion in Cebu with flights to Davao, Palawan, Caticlan/Boracay commencing on April 22.
