Pursuant to Paragraph 8.23(1)(iii) of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, the Company wishes to announce that it had provided financial assistance in the form of advances to its associate and subsidiary companies during the second quarter ended 30 June 2021 as follows: -

1. On 19 April 2021, a loan of RM3.0 million was provided to Ground Team Red Sdn. Bhd. (“GTR”) by the Company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, AirAsia Berhad (“AAB”);
2. On 12 April 2021, an advance of USD0.25 million (equivalent to RM1.04 million based on the exchange rate of 4.1520 as at 30 June 2021) was provided to AirAsia Inc. (“PAA”) by the Company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, AirAsia Investment Ltd. (Labuan);
3. On 26 April 2021, 24 May 2021 and 24 June 2021, a total of USD4.7 million advances (equivalent to RM19.5 million based on the exchange rate of 4.1520 as at 30 June 2021) was provided to PAA by the Company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, AAB;
4. On 27 April 2021, 27 May 2021 and 25 June 2021, a total of USD4.0 million advances (equivalent to RM16.6 million based on the exchange rate of 4.1520 as at 30 June 2021) was provided to Big Pay Pte. Ltd. (“Big Pay”) by the Company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, AirAsia Digital Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as RedBeat Ventures Sdn. Bhd.);
5. On 30 April 2021, 5 May 2021, 12 May 2021, and 4 June 2021, a total of USD1.3 million advances (equivalent to RM5.4 million based on the exchange rate of 4.1520 as at 30 June 2021) was provided to PT Indonesia AirAsia (“IAA”) by the Company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, AAB. On 6 May 2021, an advance of RM4.9 million was provided to IAA by the Company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, AAB; and
6. On 24 June 2021, RM5 million advance was provided by the Company to IAA.

(Collectively, referred to as “the Financial Assistance”).

The Financial Assistance provided was in the ordinary course of business and to facilitate the running of the operations and financial affairs of GTR, PAA, Big Pay and IAA.

The Financial Assistance provided does not have any material effect on the earnings per share, net assets per share and gearing of the Company and its subsidiaries.
